Hong Kong Police.

I have &c. to transmit to you for your

consideration the enclosed copy of a petition

addressed to me by certain members of the

Hong Kong Police Force, together with a copy of

an interim reply which has been sent to them

2.. It is understood that the signatories

to this letter decided to petition me while

and travelling back to this country on leave, but

that a petition on similar lines, with which

the signatories are understood to be associated,

had been addressed to you prior to their

departure on leave.
